Maspeth Town Hall sponsors a free, on-site after school program for students in grades 6, 7 and 8 daily from 3-6 p.m. “Pre-K for All” is a free program that is available to all students born in 2013. Children have access to an indoor gym and a newly renovated outdoor on-site playspace with state-of-the-art equipment. As part of the program, students also receive a nourishing breakfast and a hot lunch. For all students in Nursery through Grade 5, a fee based Extended Day Program is offered from 3-6 p.m. daily. As a testament to St. Sebastian’s academic excellence, the 2016 graduating class collectively earned more than $850,000 in Catholic High School scholarships, and students were accepted to the finest public high schools in New York City. MIDVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT WORKS FOR DA Christ the King High School senior Victoria Townsend began an internship with the Queen District Attorney’s Office. Victoria is currently assigned to the Queens Criminal Court Bureau, working as a clerical aid. Principal Peter J. Mannarino said, “Victoria is a shining example of CK’s civic-minded student body. We wish her best of luck and success in her internship.” These Ridgewood students know their numbers Aleksandra Pawlowska, a seventh-grader at St. Matthias School, recently won the math bee held at the Ridgewood school, going 17 rounds in taking the top prize. She is pictured along with eighth-grader Natalie Bialczak, who won the third-place prize, and seventh-grader Colin Byrne, who finished in second.
