Hotel.” This intricate and
complex book tells a story
of a gutsy gun moll who
stumbles into The Pentagon
Hotel, an exclusively black
residence along with a missing
child crisis, after leaving
Prohibition-era Harlem.
Lyndsay Faye has written critically
acclaimed novels such
as “Jane Steele” and “The
Gods of Gotham.”

Talavya, an Indian percussion ensemble, performs at Flushing Town Hall on Friday
night. This contemporary classical Indian tabla will take center stage as they are led
by skilled maestro Pandit Divyang Vakil. Currently, Talavya will perform Tabla Ectasy,
Tabla Tagndav, Tabla Triveni, Table Tarkhat and Ardha Taal Chakara. The ensemble has
mass appeal due to their dynamic take on the centuries-old art. They have performed
throughout the world, playing with artists such as Mickey Hart from The Grateful
Dead, Shakura S’Aida, Sidi Toure and Cuban Fire.

American culture one joke
at a time.” Taking place at
Astoria’s own The Creek &
The Cave, this night will be
the live version of the BBC
series with Dominic Fogarty.
Fogarty’s show is his journey
trying to understand the
idiosyncrasies of American
culture. Based out of NYC,
Fogarty is a British comedian
who has been performing
for three years. The
Cultural Review show will
also feature Maddy Smith
(NY Comedy Festival), Mike
Mercadal (Zeroes on Heros),
Brandon Garner (Funny or
Die), and Alex Ryu. This show
will occur four other times,
the last show being on May
23.

Davis. This week’s CLV comedians
have appeared on Wine

for an artist’s performance

how family connects us with

Dance Project Lineage Ritual/
Liminal Home dives into how
our heritage shape us, our
world view, and how memories
situate in our lives. The
cast utilizes personal stories,
food, sound, movement
and Saran wrap to convey its
message. Marion Spencer’s
show explores topics such as
today’s nature, the memory
of trauma, whiteness, cleaning
and transforming in her
show WOLF.
