MAN ASSAULTS
COPS AFTER PEEING
ON TRAIN PLATFORM
A Brooklyn man remains behind
bars for allegedly assaulting
two police officers who caught
him urinating in public at an
Ozone Park train station last
weekend.
Two uniformed members of the
NYPD Transit Bureau spotted
Roger Barksdale, 30, allegedly
peeing on the platform of the
Rockaway Boulevard A train
station at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 9,
authorities said.
When they went to arrest him,
law enforcement sources said,
Barksdale allegedly pushed one
of the officers away and ran out
of the station. The second cop
pursued the suspect out of the
station, but wound up falling
down a flight of stairs. Barksdale
kept running and fled the scene.
Officers from the 106th Precinct
and EMS units responded to
the incident. Paramedics brought
the second officer to a local hospital
for treatment of an injury to
his right knee. The first officer
suffered minor injuries and refused
medical attention.
As a result of an investigation,
police tracked down Barksdale
later on Dec. 9 and took him into
custody on charges of attempted
assault, resisting arrest and
obstruction of governmental
administration.
During his arraignment hearing,
court records indicated,
Barksdale was ordered held on
$10,000 bond/$15,000 cash bail
and to return to court on Dec. 15.
