EVA BUJKA died on Sunday, December
3, at the age of 85. She was
the wife of the late Gustav A. Bujka
and loving mother of Elizabeth
Gaudiosi and the late Thomas Bujka.
She was also a cherished grandmother
and a loving sister. A Mass
of Christian Burial will be offered
at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, December
7, at St. Stanislaus Church, Maspeth,
followed by interment at Calvary
Cemetery, Woodside, under the direction
of Papavero Funeral Home,

FRED F. SAMPERI of Oyster Bay,
NY died on Sunday, December 3, at
the age of 87. A native of Brooklyn,
he was the beloved husband of Eleanor
Dabberdt and devoted father of
Steven Samperi and the late James
Samperi. He is also survived by two
grandchildren and was a U.S. Army
veteran. A Mass of Christian Burial
was offered at St. Matthias Church,
Ridgewood, followed by interment
at All Faiths Cemetery, Middle Village,
under the direction of Morton
Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels,
663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood.

ANNA SCHWARZ of Middle Village
died on Sunday, December 3, at the
age of 97. A native of Romania, she
was the beloved wife of Michael
Schwartz, devoted mother of Anna
Weber, daughter of the late Michael
and Maria Rauner and dear sister of
Maria Brischler and Michael Rauner.
She is also survived by two grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Original Enzian,
Bayerische Sangergruppe. Services
were offered at Trinity Lutheran
Church, Middle Village, by Pastor
Leo Longan, followed by interment
at Ballard Barrett Cemetery, Mahopac
Falls, NY, under the direction of
George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41
Cooper Ave., Glendale. In lieu of
fl owers, memorial donations may be

EUGENE BRENDAN BARRINS died
on Thursday, November 30, at the age
of 79. Originally from Fiddane, Corballa,
County Sligo, Ireland, he was the
beloved husband of Mary V. Barrins,

RUTH SCHMID of Ridgewood,
Queens, and Whiting, NJ, died on
Monday, November 27, at the age
of 95. She had been a resident of
Sunrise Assisted Living, Yardley,
PA, since November of 2013.
Ruth was born and raised in Ridgewood;
she later attended Catholic
School and graduated from Newtown
High School in Elmhurst. In
1942, Ruth married Eugene Schmid.
They were married for 64 years.
Eugene was a watchmaker.
After returning from the war,
Eugene and Ruth opened a store
on Fresh Pond Road in Ridgewood,
where they sold jewelry and fi xed
watches and clocks. Aft er 38 years
in business, Eugene and Ruth
moved to Whiting, NJ, in 1994.
Ruth and Eugene laughed a lot and
they loved spending time together.
Eugene passed away in April 2006.
Ruth is survived by her son, Ron
Schmid of Yardley, PA and his wife
Linda. Ruth loved her family dearly.
Ruth has two grandchildren:Jay
Schmid who lives in Centerville,
VA with his wife Carolyn Schmid;
and Gena Loyd who lives in Pittsburgh,
PA with her husband, Russ
Loyd. Ruth also has 5 great grandchildren;
Hailey Schmid, Rylee
Schmid, Metta Loyd, Rainer Loyd,
and Rivers Loyd.
Ruth was laid rest with Eugene at
the Brigadier General William C.
Doyle Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery,
New Egypt, NJ.
