Spanish/Hispanic culture at Flamenco
Vivo Carlota Santana’s “Navidad
Flamenca”! This performance will
feature live music, dancing and traditional
songs. Opening night is at 7:30
p.m., followed by shows at 2 p.m. and 8
p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

six poets and writers featured in the

this evening for the community’s
annual tree lighting hosted by the
Maspeth Chamber of Commerce. Santa

tree and menorah lighting at 7 p.m. at
the corner of Jamaica Avenue and Forest

SATURDAY, DEC. 8
Join the Queens Botanical Garden to
create festive holiday wreaths and to
learn about diff erent types of conifer
plants. All materials needed for wreath
construction are provided. The QBG
is located at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing.
The event is $18 for members and $20

live nativity! This fun event features

The Glendale Kiwanis Club will host
the community’s annual tree lighting
at 5 p.m. at the corner of Myrtle and
Cooper avenues in Glendale. The
program includes music from the Joe
Fuoco Music Center and a visit from
Santa Claus.
Celebrate Hanukkah with a concert
at the Rego Park Jewish Center! The
performance features Avram Pengas,
guitarist and bouzouki virtuoso, and
will include Israeli, Arabic, Persian,
Turkish and Yiddish songs. Traditional
latkes and applesauce will be served.
Tickets are $20. This event is at 2 p.m.
on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 97-30 Queens

The Sacred Music Society of Our Lady
Queen of Martyrs Church will be

The Onderdonk House in Ridgewood will host a truly unique holiday
celebration this Sunday, Dec. 9: St. Nicholas Day. Hosted by the Greater

St. Nicholas (Sinterklaas in Dutch), the saint that became the inspiration
for Santa Claus. The program includes holiday treats and sweets, games,
