died on Sunday, December 2, at the age
of 57. A native of Guayaquil, Ecuador,
he was the beloved husband of Teodora,
devoted father of Karla Yarleque
and dear brother of Jasmine Yarleque
and Jose Yarleque. A Mass of Christian
Burial was offered at St. Aloysius
Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment
at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood,
under the direction of Morton

BARBARA A. CIERZNIEWSKI of
Glendale died on Saturday, December
1, at the age of 72. A native of Queens,
she was the daughter of the late Edwin
and Stella Cierzniewski, dear sister of
James S. Cierzniewski and fond aunt
of Christian J. Cierzniewski. She is
also survived by numerous beloved
family members and friends. Services

died on Thursday, November 29, at the
age of 55. A native of Brooklyn, he was

Wednesday, November 28, in Fort Mill,
South Carolina at the age of 85. She was
the wife of the late Albert Szatkowski,
loving mother of Robert Szatkowski,
Eugene Szatkowski and Gerard and
Alice Szatkowski, and cherished
grandmother of Dustin, Jordan, Coryn,
Connor, Colin and Emma. She is also
survived by many loving nieces, nephews
and friends. A Mass of Christian

3, at St. Mary’s Church, Woodside,
followed by interment at St. Charles
Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York, under
the direction of Papavero Funeral

WILLIAM M. VERDERBER died
at his daughter’s home in Phoenix,
Arizona, on Friday, November 23,
at the age of 90. A native of Austria,
he was a veteran of the U.S. Air
Force. He was the beloved husband
of Annaliese, loving father of Lisa,
William and Robert, loving grandfather
to Brian and Karen and cherished
opa of Isabella, Madilyn and
Addison. He is also survived by his
sister Hedy Byelick, brother Joseph
Verderber, and many nieces, nephews
and friends. He was cremated in
Arizona. A Memorial Service will be
held on Friday, December 7, from 2 to
6 p.m. at George Werst Funeral Home,
71-41 Cooper Ave, Glendale. In lieu
of fl owers, the family requests that
donations be made in his name to St.
Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,
stjude.org.
