Middle Village celebrates
holidays with tree lighting
With merry tunes and a special visitor
from the North Pole, Middle Village
residents celebrated the start of the
holiday season on Nov. 30 with a tree lighting at
Community United Methodist Church.
The event was sponsored by the Middle Village
Chamber of Commerce, the Kiwanis Club of
Middle Village and the Middle Village Property
Owners/Residents Association. Residents gathered
outside the church to light up a Christmas
tree; local Girl Scouts sang traditional holiday
tunes to help make the season bright.
Finally, Santa Claus — whose appearance was
arranged by Sal Crifasi — made a brief stop out
of his busy schedule to greet the children in attendance.
Everyone enjoyed refreshments inside
the church following the tree lighting.
