For the third consecutive year, Atlas Park, located at 8000 Cooper Ave., hosted the food-fi lled aff air, with more than 10 Queens restaurants on hand, giving out delicious freebies to everyone who stopped by. People were enjoying pizza from Grace’s Pizza, seafood from Off the Hook, Italian fare from Bartolino’s, and more from other great restaurants. “This is a win-win-win,” said Rob MacKay, director of the Queens Tourism Council. “The diners win, the restaurant owners win, and the borough of Queens wins.” Dine In Queens is a borough-wide event where restaurant-goers are able to visit participating restaurants across Queens and enjoy a prix-fi xe menu for a discounted price. This gives diners the chance to try new restaurants, and brings in new customers for restaurateurs. “Restaurants are really a wonderful thing in this borough. We have so many restaurants,” said Seth Bornstein, executive director of Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC). “It’s a great time to try some good food, try some foods you never had before.” Other restaurants participating in this year’s Dine In Queens kickoff event were Bourbon Street, La Adelita, Grain House, Du Ponti Italian Restaurant, Tienda Vieja and many more. Katch Astoria is participating in its very fi rst Dine In Queens, and John Cons was excited to be a part of the kickoff event in Atlas Park. “This is our fi rst time here. It’s a great place and a beautiful venue,” Cons said of Atlas Park. “I couldn’t be more happy to be here.” The annual Dine In Queens event will run from Oct. 17 to Nov. 3.
