BWG teams rack up wins in
Columbus Day weekend tournaments

Three Blau Weiss Gottschee
(BWG) teams performed
exceptionally well at their
tournaments over the Columbus Day
weekend.
The 2007 team played at the Brooklyn
Italians Cup and managed to put
up a perfect 5-0 record to win the
tournament with victories over Metropolitan
Oval, Brentwood, West End,
and White Planes. They defeated Surf
SC by a score of 6-0 in the tournament
fi nals to take the tournament.
At the North Hempstead Cup, the
BWG Girls’ U14 team posted a 1-1-1 record,
good enough for second place
in the tournament; while the BWG
Girls’ U10 team went undefeated with
a 3-0 record to take first place at the
Harbor Links in Port Washington.
