BWG squads back
in action in a big way
The 2011 Boys team from Blau
Weiss Gottschee soccer participated
in their first-ever
tournament on Long Island, the HBC
Columbus Day event.
Fielding two teams in a seven
on-seven format, the boys demonstrated
exceptional skill for their age
and size. The boys played four games
over the two days, having great fun
and are anxiously awaiting their next
outing.
Meanwhile, the BWG 2009 White
team took home first place at the HBC
Columbus Day Tournament. The boys
won against HBC Lazio 6-2: Kings
Park United 10-1; Kings Park Galaxy
7-2; and in the final won against BWG
U10 Blue, 5-4.
Not to be outdone, the 2005 BWG
Girls team grabbed a first-place trophy
in the North Hempstead Cup, with
the team shutting out the opposition
three times along the way: 7-0 against
Stony Brook, 8-0 against Levittown
and 5-0 against Port Washington.
