New Rector At Bushwick Church Bushwick Christians welcomed the new rector of Calvary and St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church with a special service last weekend. Rev. Charles Holdbrooke was installed as the church’s sixth rector. The Right Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano, the Episcopal Bishop of Long Island, presided over the ceremony. (photo: Chris Bishop) Making Tuition Pledge To New CK Students Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village held its annual open house on Sunday, Oct. 5. During the event, Christ the King Board of Trustees Chairman Serphin R. Maltese announced that all students who attend Christ the King High School beginning with the 2015-16 School Year will participate in the new CK Tuition Guarantee Program. “Christ the King High School recognizes the sacrifices that families make in order to ensure a quality Catholic education,” Maltese told parents, “which is why, as of next year, we will guarantee that your child’s tuition will not increase while at Christ the King High School.” Pictured from left are members of the Board of Trustees: Michael W. (photo: Chris Bishop) Rego Park Scout Soars To Top Rank A long-time member of Boy Scout Troop 119 received the highest rank a scout can receive during a ceremony at St. Margaret Parish Center in Middle Village last Saturday, Oct. 4. Nicholas Wunsch of Rego Park recently received the Eagle Scout rank; the junior at Regis High School in Manhattan earned the badge for his community service project. Wunsch coordinated the repainting of 700 linear feet of fencing surrounding Painter’s Park near P.S. 174 in Rego Park. Among those on hand to honor the scout were State Sen.
