Fire Department sources said the derailment occurred at about 6:09 p.m. on the Long Island Rail Road’s Montauk branch near the Andrews Avenue overpass. Numerous Fire Department units, including Haz-Mat 1, responded to the scene along with the 104th Precinct, EMS units, the MTA Police Department, the Office of Emergency Management and the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
