Police released on Wednesday morning, Aug. 27, a sketch (at right) of the suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s who spoke Spanish and had trimmed eyebrows and an earring in his right ear. Shelter by Robert Pozarycki Detectives continue to search for the man who tried to sexually assault a mother and attacked her two young children near an Elmhurst homeless shelter early on Sunday morning, Aug. 24, it was reported. One hundred years of “courtesy, professionalism and respect” in Richmond Hill were celebrated at the 102nd Precinct’s centennial last Thursday, Aug. 21, at its Richmond Hill headquarters. The ceremony marked the 1914 opening of the precinct on 118th Street south of Jamaica Avenue, which serves Kew Gardens, Richmond Hill and Woodhaven and a portion of Ozone Park north of 103rd Avenue. During the ceremony, the NYPD brought its Pipe and Drum Corps to perform and put on display vintage patrol cars. Queens Borough President Melinda Katz presented a citation marking the occasion to Deputy Inspector Henry Sautner, the 102nd Precinct’s commander.
