OBITUARIES
JOAN E. BROWN died Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the age of 88.
She was a cherished Aunt. Private cremation was held Friday,
August 21 at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the
direction of Papavero Funeral Home, Maspeth.

SYLVIA HUDERSKI died Wednesday, Aug. 19, at the age of
87. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter A. Huderski,
loving mother of Walter (Janet) Huderski and Karen (Nick)
Dayawon, cherished grandmother of Louis, Beth Anne, Nick
and Dawn, great-grandmother of Theo and cherished Aunt. A
Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday, August 24 at
Our Lady of Hope Church, followed by interment at Calverton
National Cemetery, Calverton, under the direction of Papavero
Funeral Home, Maspeth.

LEONARD M. DISTEFANO died Sunday, Aug. 23, at the age
of 20. He was the beloved son of Marie and Leonard DiStefano,
loving brother of Melissa DiStefano, cherished grandson of
Leonard and Joan DiStefano, dearest nephew of Linda and
Laura, and dear cousin of Brianna. Funeral services will be
held at Papavero Funeral Home, on Friday, Aug. 28, at 10:30
a.m., followed by interment at Lutheran All-Faiths Cemetery,
Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home,
Maspeth.

THELMA MAURER née Dittmann,
died Monday August 17, 2020 at the age of 87.
Wife of the late John A. Maurer Jr. Thelma lived
in Ridgewood and Glendale almost her entire
life before moving to Delray Beach, Florida in
2017. Survived by her daughter Charlene
Fawcett and husband Richard, son John T.
Maurer, and her daughter Patty Genna and
husband Phil. Cherished grandmother to Brian,
Jeffrey, Anthony and Michael. Great
grandmother to Connor, Dylan, Georgia and
Madison. Forever in our hearts!
