FOREST HILLS & REGO PARK
MAN KILLED WHILE
JAYWALKING IN F.H.: COPS
No charges have been filed
against the driver involved in an
accident that claimed the life of a
pedestrian as he attempted to cross
a busy Forest Hills street early on
Sunday morning.
Officers from the 112th Precinct
responded to a 911 call at 12:27 a.m. on
Aug. 6 about a pedestrian who was
hit by a car in front of a location on
Yellowstone Boulevard near Selfridge
Street.
Moments earlier, according to law
enforcement sources, 29-year-old
Arkadiy Dibin of Alderton Street in
Rego Park attempted to run across
Yellowstone Boulevard in the middle
of the block when he was struck by
a 2005 Buick Lacrosse operated by a
66-year-old man that was traveling
northbound on the boulevard. The
driver stopped his vehicle and remained
at the scene.
Upon arriving at the scene with
EMS units, officers found Dibin
lying face-up in the middle of the
street, unconscious and bleeding
heavily from the head and mouth.
Paramedics took him to Forest Hills
Hospital in critical condition; Dibin
was subsequently transferred to
North Shore Hospital in Manhasset,
where he later died.
The NYPD Collision Investigation
Squad is continuing its inquiry.
