Hundreds celebrate National Night
Out with the 104th Precinct

Hundreds of people from across
Ridgewood, Glendale, Maspeth,
and Middle Village came out to
Juniper Valley Park on Tuesday, Aug.
1 to show their support for the 104th
Precinct and celebrate the NYPD’s National
Night Out Against Crime with
fun, games, free food, and music.
All throughout the hardtop soft ball
fi eld and basketball courts of Juniper
Valley Park near 80th Street and Juniper
Boulevard North people of all ages
were lining up to get free products
from vendors, free hotdogs, popcorn
and drinks.
Kids were excited to get behind the
wheel of a police vehicle and even blast
the sirens and get on the radio system.
Children were also bounding around
in the many infl atable rides set up at
the park.
Many of the area’s civic organizations
and businesses were on hand
to show their support for the police
force including the 104th Precinct
Community Council, 104 Civilian Observation
Patrol (104COP), Maspeth
Federal Savings Bank, Juniper Park
Civic Association (JPCA), Crifasi Real
Estate, and many more.
Joining in on the fun was some
local elected offi cials including Councilwoman
Elizabeth Crowley, Assemblyman
Brian Barnwell, and Council
District 30 contender and president of
the JPCA Robert Holden.
Rounding out the evening was a
performance by the band GENERATIONS
who played all the classic rock
hits during the Juniper Valley Park
2017 Summer Concert Series’ Classic
Rock Night.
