See page 4 Ridgewood man caught for mugging on camera BY ROBERT POZARYCKI rpozarycki@ridgewoodtimes.com @robbpoz Video footage reportedly led police to a Ridgewood man arrested last week for taking part in a mugging on a neighborhood street earlier this month. He was identified as Ariel Angomas, 23, of Cornelia Street. According to information provided by the Queens District Attorney’s offi ce, the mugging took place at 1 a.m. on July 6 in front of a business on Seneca Avenue near Palmetto Street. Reportedly, the victim was walking through the area when he was approached two individuals, one of whom wore a black hooded sweatshirt. Police said the males punched the man in the neck, then ripped off his headphones and grabbed a cell phone out of his hand. The crooks then fl ed the scene in an unknown direction. The incident was later reported to the 104th Precinct; the victim sustained minor injuries. During its investigation, the 104th Precinct Detective Squad obtained security video which showed the robbery, including Angomas allegedly punching the victim and stealing his cell phone. Angomas was tracked down and arrested on July 15, then arraigned the following day on charges including second-degree robbery. He remains held on $20,000 bail.
