We just published a preview of this brand-new venue, which overtook the space of old bar Equinox. Footlight hopes to be a place for everyone to enjoy music, comedy, open mics and more, so why not welcome the venue to the neighborhood at the grand opening party this Friday? The concert takes place from 8 p.m. to midnight and costs $5. The venue is located at 465 Seneca Ave. Drink: $5 Drafts @ Bridge and Tunnel Brewery. So maybe it’s true that every day features $5 drafts from our favorite Ridgewood Brewery, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome of a deal! Stop by to try one of their special summer brews, like the Sour Porter or the Berliner Weisse. If you’re not a drinker, don’t worry: they also have homemade black currant kombucha on tap! The brewery is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and is located at 15-35 Decatur St. Saturday, July 23 Community: Ridgewood Youth Market. The Ridgewood Youthmarket, run in partnership with Ridgewood Local Development Corporation and the Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District, is now in its eighth season! Youth from the Bushwick and Ridgewood come out to this lively market each Saturday to sell fresh fruits and vegetables purchased from Greenmarket Co. The market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Nov. 19 at Cypress and Myrtle avenues. Sunday, July 24 Myrtle Avenue Street Festival. The date’s finally arrived! This Sunday brings the annual Myrtle Avenue Street Festival, featuring fun, games, rides, shopping, dancing and food. You name it! Presented by the Glendale/Ridgewood Kiwanis, it’s going to be fun for the whole community. The event is free and takes place on Myrtle Avenue from Forest Avenue to Fresh Pond Road. Music: Teletextile, Gurumiran, Friend Roulette @ Footlight ($5). Another great, affordable weekend concert from the folks over at Footlight. This time, multi-instrumentalist Pamela Martinez will perform with her project Teletextile alongside Laugh away the weekend at the Jim Gaf gan Show Of cial Watching Party, with cast and crew Q&As and free food. The venue is located at 465 Seneca Ave. Monday, July 25 Cinema: Maysles Cinema Mondays presents Monterey Pop @ Nowadays (FREE) .Maysles Cinema in Manhattan is curating a pop-up non-fiction film series at outdoor beer garden Nowadays. This week’s edition features two documentaries called “Herzog Eats His Shoes” and “Burden of Dreams.” The admission is free and the screening starts at sundown. Nowadays is located at 56-06 Cooper Ave. Ridgewood Meditation @ All Yoga NYC If you’ve ever wanted to try meditation, join others at All Yoga on Monday nights. This class consists of a 20-minute seated meditation session on chairs or pillows, followed by a formal talk and ending in an open discussion. Class runs from 7 to 8 p.m. and is donation-based, so give whatever you can. All Yoga is located at 780 Woodward Ave. Tuesday, July 26 Church: Vacation Bible School @ Redeemer Lutheran Church.
