GOP Ldr. Ragusa Dies At 74 by Robert Pozarycki Queens County Republican Party Chairman Phil Ragusa died on Tuesday, June 24, at the age of 74 following a brief battle with leukemia. Ragusa took the helm over the Queens GOP in 2007, succeeding then-State Sen. Serphin Maltese. The Flushing accountant’s tenure was marred by division and repeated challenges from Republicans dissatisfied with the party’s direction. She would say Daddy please don’t go away. Ricky has grownin to a handsome, respectful man. He takes his responsibilities the way he can. He has leisure time, playing golf with his piers. He protects his family all these years. I know he is hurting not having you here. You two would be having so much funtogether . It is so unfair that my childrenlost you at anearly age. If you only knew, how I have the strongest rage. Claudio has developed into a strong willed teen. His mind is into his drawings. He has so much talent. He always says I wish I could have met my grandpa. I love him even though we never met. We would have had a lot of funtogether . Andraline has matured into a beautiful young lady. She has gottenthro ugh a lot of teenage challenges. She is smart and realizes how cruel things are, but she has good guidance and support from her family. We all treasure the happy moments that you gave us and we think about all the love, support and understanding you gave your kids always. It’s time to say so long for now. We’ll never say goodbye.
