According to police, the assault occurred at about 12:40 a.m. on Starr Street near Irving Avenue. Reportedly, the perpetrator approached the victim from behind, grabbed her by her waist and threw her to the ground. Seconds later, police said, the attacker sexually assaulted her with his hand. As the victim struggled with the suspect and screamed for help, authorities noted, a resident at a nearby building called out from the window. This prompted the perpetrator to fl ee the location before he could sexually assault her further, police stated. Offi cers from the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The victim was treated for her injuries at Woodhull Hospital Center.
