The individual, identified by the police as 40-yearold Bedford-Stuyvesant resident Justin Rice, was at the bar at 1211 Myrtle Ave. with his girlfriend around 11 p.m. on June 13 when the couple started fighting. A bouncer who intervened was unable to stop the argument, and eventually threw Rice out of the bar. Rice threw at least one punch at the bouncer and also threw a metal bucket at him while carrying on a heated tirade in which he referred repeatedly to the parties at the bar as “f*ggots” and threatened to come back “Orlando style,” referring to this past weekend’s bloodbath at Latin night at a gay nightclub in Florida. He was arrested at 1:35 a.m. on June 14 and charged with attempted assault, aggravated harassment and criminal possession of a weapon (which police sources identified as the bucket launched at the bouncer). The case is now with the office of Brooklyn District Attorney Ken Thompson. Glendale man dies in LIC crash A 53-year-old man died on June 13 after his vehicle was struck by a truck in Long Island City, police said. On June 13 at about 7:58 p.m., police responded to a call of a car crash between a four-door sedan and a truck at 37th Street and Review Avenue in Long Island City. Officers found Bruce E. Lanzer, of 76th Street in Glendale, in his car with trauma to his body. Lanzer was transported to Elmhurst Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A police investigation found that a 26-year-old man was driving the truck westbound on Review Avenue when he hit the car driven by Lanzer. The investigation found that Lanzer had failed to stop at a stop sign on 37th Street. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing. 83rd Precinct Bushwick
