A native of Brooklyn, he was the beloved husband of Joan, devoted father of Charles Ameres and dear brother of Fanny Ameres, Joseph Ameres and Ludwig Ameres. He was a former trustee of St. Aloysius Church, Ridgewood, and a member of its parish council. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Aloysius Church, followed by cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory, Middle Village, under the direction of Morton Funeral Home/Ridgewood Chapels, 663 Grandview Ave., Ridgewood. +++ PETER C. PAGANO, age 88, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Glendale and New Hyde Park, NY, passed peacefully from this world on Saturday, May 24, with his devoted wife of 66 years, Frances, at his side. A veteran of the Second World War, Peter served in General Patton's Third Army, 89th Infantry Division. He participated in the Allied crossing of the Rhine River among other campaigns. A proud small businessman, Peter found Page Printing Company in 1949. It remained a fixture in the Ridgewood commercial community for fifty years. In his earlier years, Peter was active in several civic and fraternal organizations including American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lions Club, Glendale Chamber of Commerce and UNICO. In addition to his wife Frances, Peter is survived by his three children , Frank (Patricia), Angela (Edward) and Peter, six grandchildren Karen, Gregory, Peter, Elizabeth, Stephanie & Catherine and Five great grandchildren Emily, Michael, Mallory, Courtney & Cameron. Viewing was held on Sunday, June 1, at Weigand Bros. Funeral Home, 49 Hillside Avenue, Williston Park, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, June 2, St. Aidan Church, 505 Willis Ave., Williston Park, NY, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village. +++ ZENONA KOZLOWSKI died on Tuesday, May 27, in Santa Clarita, Ca. at the age of 85. She was the wife of the late Jan Kozlowski, loving mother of Edward, Helena and the late Anatol and cherished grandmother of Nicole, Edward, Anatol and Kelly.
