Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown identified the defendant as Harry Garcia, 48, of 134th Avenue, who was arraigned last Saturday, June 7, in Queens Criminal Court on five criminal complaints charging him with five counts of seconddegree burglary, one count of second-degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and one count of resisting arrest. According to police, the incident occurred at about 8 a.m. last Friday in the vicinity P.S./I.S. 119, located at the corner of 74th Street and 78th Avenue. Reportedly, a student was walking to school when the perpetrator— described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s, standing 6’-tall and weighing 200 lbs.—followed her for several blocks. Sources stated the student arrived at school safely and notified administrators, who subsequently alerted the 104th Precinct. A letter regarding the incident was sent home Contractor’s Fatal Plunge At Sunnyside School Site by Noah Zuss One man was injured and another killed following an accident at the site of a new public school being built in Sunnyside last Thursday June, 5, police reported. At 8:15 a.m. police responded to a 911 call of two elevator construction workers injured at the site, located at 42-45 42nd St., within the 108th Precinct, law enforcement sources stated. Upon arrival, police determined that one worker fell down an elevator shaft from the fifth floor. The other was injured when struck by debris while on the fourth floor of the six story building. Both men were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital. The man who fell through the shaft, described as a 45-year-old white male was pronounced dead on arrival, police stated. The other man, described as a male in his thirties was listed in stable condition, according to law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing. Vehicles Collide In Rego Pk. A driver was injured after a sedan smacked the rear of an SUV in Rego Park last Wednesday afternoon, June 4, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. in front of a location on Woodhaven Boulevard southbound near 62nd Road. Members of Engine Co. 287, Ladder Co. 136, Battalion 46, the 104th Precinct and EMS units rushed to the scene. The injured driver was removed to a local hospital.
