Remembering her
‘Wonderful’ times
Among one of the main projects Maria Thomson spearheaded as executive
director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation
was the Wonderful Woodhaven Street Festival. Held every October,
the street fair encompasses all of Jamaica Avenue from about 80th Street
to Woodhaven Boulevard, attracting thousands of people and hundreds
of vendors. In this 2016 photo, Thomson is pictured with GWDC President
Stephen Esposito and Assemblyman Mike Miller at the festival. The GWDC
plans yet another wonderful day in Woodhaven this October.
