A native of Tregiovo, Italy, he married his beloved wife, Deolinda, on November 29, 1958. A custom tailor by trade, he was involved in many community and church activities in Ridgewood, including Radio Maria, Maria Santisima Del Balzo and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. He was a founding member of Club Trentino and the Santa Crucifi cio, Maria Delle Grazia, Padre Pio, San Giuseppe and San Antonio de Padua societies. He was ordained a deacon at St. Aloysius Church, Ridgewood, in 1984. He was the devoted father of John, Maria, Mario, Rosa, Lucy and Giulio, dear brother of Graziella, Rosetta, Lucy, Umberto, Alma, Annetta, Vittoria, Maria, Agnese and Lino and loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was off ered on Monday, May 8, by Auxiliary Bishop Neil Tiedemann at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Ridgewood, followed by interment at Linden Hill Cemetery, Ridgewood, under the direction of Seneca Chapels, 494 Seneca Ave., Ridgewood. +++ JOANNE KIJIK died on Monday, May 8, at the age of 70. She was the beloved wife of Richard Kijik, loving mother of Jason and Michelle Kijik and Bryan Kijik, cherished grandmother of Hailey and dear sister of Elaine Collura. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be off ered at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 12, at St. Adalbert’s Church, Elmhurst, followed by interment at St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, under the direction of Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand Ave., Maspeth. BAUM of Queens died on Sunday, May 7, at the age of 88. A native of Queens, he was the devoted father of Richard Baum, Linda Krug and Barbara Baum, beloved grandfather of Larry, Dallas and Jacqueline and fond great-grandfather of Shayna, Max, Draven, Nathan, Makaela, Isabella and Olivia. Services were offered at graveside at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY, under the direction of George Werst Funeral Home, 71-41 Cooper Ave., Glendale. +++ PATRICK H. PRIAL of Ridgewood died on Saturday, May 6, at the age of 80. A native of Queens, he was the beloved husband of Helen Prial, devoted father of Tara Harris, Timothy Prial, Terrence Prial, the late Mary Elizabeth Prial and Eileen Prial and dear brother of Mary Crocker, Frances Herman, Philip Prial, Irene Kalschmid and the late Catherine Harris, James Prial and Joseph Prial. He is also survived by three grandchildren. He was a member of the New York City Police Department and a U.S. Air Force veteran. CASALE died on Friday, May 5, at the age of 98. She was the wife of the late Frank H. Casale and loving mother of Louis Casale, Jack Casale and Carol Ann Ercolano. She was also the cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren, great-grandmother of 30 grandchildren and great-great-grandmother of two great-great-grandchildren. A native of Allendorf, Germany, she was the devoted mother of Doreen Collins, Kim DelFranco and Richard DelFranco and dear sister of Richard Dowgun. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A native of Queens, she was the wife of the late Carl Funaro, devoted mother of James Funaro and Diane Pellegrini and daughter of the late Nicolo and Guiseppina DiMaio.
