According to police, Matthew Wenzel, 18, and Athina Karalias, 25, allegedly beat up and robbed the victim outside of a home on 67th Street off Cooper Avenue, between 1 and 1:15 a.m. on April 17. Upon approaching her, the complaint continued, Karalias proceeded to punch him about the face, when Wenzel came up from behind and began punching him about the face several times as well. It was then that three other unapprehended individuals joined the melee and punched him in the face as well, the victim said in the complaint. He also told police he then fell to the floor where one of the attackers removed the watch from his wrist. The incident resulted in bruises to his ribs and eye, substantial pain to his face, chest and ribs, and a laceration to his head that required two staples to close. The victim reported the incident to the 104th Precinct after being treated at Long Island Jewish Medical Center for his injuries, law enforcement agents said. Both Karalias and Wenzel were arrested on April 28 and charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of third degree assault. THREE MORE INDICTED FOR ROBBING KNICK IN MASPETH Three more suspects have been indicted in connection to the robbery of New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early nearby a Maspeth strip club in December of 2015, according to federal court reports. Johan Antney, 26 of Queens, Dashawn Tejada, 26 of Brooklyn and Shaqueel Walker, 25 of Queens were arraigned on Tuesday, May 2 on counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and using fi rearms during crimes of violence. On Dec. 30, 2015, Early, 26, and his girlfriend were robbed at gunpoint after leaving in an Uber from Maspeth’s CityScapes Gentlemen’s Club on 58th Street near 55th Drive. Four suspects followed Early’s Uber in three cars from the club to the corner of Tyler and Maurice avenues. The suspect’s cars surrounded the Uber and the crooks confronted Early while inside the car, demanding his property. Early complied, but one of the suspects shot Early in the kneecap before fl eeing with the other suspects. Early was treated for his injuries at Elmhurst Hospital; his girlfriend was not injured. On April 27, 2016, Antney, Tejada and Walker were arrested. According to court reports, Antney has been convicted of attempted burglary in the second degree and was out on parole at the time of this crime. Tejada has two cases pending in Kings County Supreme Court, both of which concern the discharge of a fi rearm. Walker has no prior convictions, however he has a bench warrant in Carbon County, Pennsylvania for failing to appear to face charges concerning possession of burglary tools. Earlier in that month, a fourth suspect, Delvon Dowling, 23, was picked up in connection with the robbery. He entered a guilty plea to being an accessory to an armed robbery aft er the fact and faces up to 10 years in prison.
