Louis Marinacci were honored with Cop of the Month awards for their apprehension of a suspect wanted in six local bank robberies over the past six months. On Tuesday, March 3, the officers responded to a call of a robbery at the Capital One bank located at 70-01 Forest Avenue. They apprehended 24-year-old Reuben McLaughlin a block away from the location. According to police, McLaughlin is responsible for a pattern of six bank robberies, hitting three of the same banks twice. In addition to the Forest Avenue location, McLaughlin was also linked to multiple robberies at the Capital One Bank at 74-11 Metropolitan Ave. and the Astoria Bank at 75-11 Metropolitan Ave., both in Middle Village. The FBI also was involved in the investigation. McLaughlin now faces federal armed charges. \Capt.
