10 TIMES • MARCH 19 - mARCH 25, 2015 Compiled by Robert Pozarycki, Anthony Giudice a police beat nd Cristabelle Tumola 102nd Precinct Kew Gardens, Ozone Park, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven Two charged in deadly shooting at Richmond Hill gas station Two Brooklyn men have been arrested for the fatal January shooting of a man at a gas station near the Van Wyck Expressway, police said. Charles Williams, 26, and Moeleek Harrell, 25, have both been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the Jan. 20 incident, according to authorities. The two allegedly approached Derek Quattlebaum, a 28-year-old Brooklyn resident, at about 3 p.m. that day at a BP gas station in Richmond Hill at the intersection of Van Wyck Expressway and Atlantic Avenue, and then fired at him. Video footage released by police shows two suspects running into a blue Audi at the station and driving away. Quattlebaum was shot in the head, torso and limbs, and taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he died. A motive for the shooting was not immediately clear. Suspect wanted in robbery of Woodhaven Subway restaurant A man who was apparently hungry for more than sandwich held up a Woodhaven Subway, getting away with $500 in cash, authorities said. The suspect entered the restaurant at 92-12 Jamaica Ave., near Woodhaven Boulevard, about 4:40 p.m. on March 15 and told the employee that he had a gun, according to police. He then took $500 before fleeing in an unknown direction. Police described the suspect as a black male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a hat, black sneakers and a black coat. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). Law enforcement sources said the shots were fired at about 8:20 a.m. on March 16 as 104th Precinct officers visited a home on 56th Avenue off 60th Street. Moments earlier, authorities said, police received a call regarding a “man with a gun” at the location. When the officers arrived at the home, police stated, the suspect — Jeremy Clark of Rochester, NH — fired shots at the officers. No one, however, was hit. The incident led to a massive police response and search. Within moments, police officers ordered the suspect to drop his firearm; he reportedly complied and was taken into custody. The gun was recovered, but police did not disclose the type of weapon. Five officers were also brought to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries suffered while responding to the shooting.
