It was noted that all criminal charges are accusations and all persons listed in this blotter are presumed innocent until proven guilty. ������������������ “When Only The Best Will Do!” Great Quality, Fair Pricing! 104 PRECINCT BLOTTER 83RD PRECINCT BUSHWICK LAUNDROMAT BURGLAR STEALS CASH A brazen burglar was caught on camera aft er he broke into a local laundromat, just over the Ridgewood border in Bushwick, and made off with $600 in cash, police said. According to law enforcement offi cials, the crook — described as a Hispanic male with a beard, black hair and brown eyes, who was last seen wearing a white hooded bubble jacket, white shorts, a white knit cap and white sneakers — broke into the Ocean Laundry Center located at 104 Saint Nicholas Ave. just aft er midnight on Thursday, March 9. Cops said the suspect gained access to the laundromat by pushing in the air conditioner that was perched in a side window of the store. Once inside he grabbed the $600 and then fl ed the location on foot in an unknown direction. GLENDALE MAN CHARGED IN DEADLY TOW TRUCK ACCIDENT Police have booked an 81-year-old tow truck driver from Glendale for fatally hitting an 81-yearold woman at a Flushing intersection last week. On Thursday, March 9, at approximately 2:59 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Holly Avenue and Kissena Boulevard. Upon arrival, police found 81-year-old Ping Xie of Elder Avenue unconscious and unresponsive with head trauma. EMS transported Xie to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries later that day. Police determined that Xie was walking across Kissena Boulevard in the crosswalk when a tow truck traveling westbound on Holly Avenue struck the victim while making a left turn onto southbound Kissena Boulevard. The driver of the truck, identified as 81-year-old Frederick J. Alsterberg of Woodhaven Boulevard in Glendale, remained at the scene. Alsterberg was subsequently charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care, and was given a windshield tint violation. The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
