BWG academy teams fi nd success on the road
Many of the older BWG academies
practiced and played
scrimmages in preparation
of the outdoor season this past weekend.
However, a few of the younger
BWG squads traveled outside of
Queens to compete in different
tournaments.
The 2006 Academy team traveled
to Allentown, PA to compete in the
EDP Futsal Cup. In a very competitive
bracket, playing against elite Pennsylvania
teams, the team was able to reach
the fi nal. However, in a fast paced
game, the BWG lost to Lehigh Valley
Academy 4-1.
Meanwhile, the 2003 pre-academy
traveled to Rockland County
and finished second in thier competition.
It was a very competitive
group and teams played some excellent
soccer.
