events during its fourth annual Black
History Month Celebration Series. On
Friday, Feb. 9, JCAL will be screening
the fi lm “Finding Samuel Lowe.” The
fi lm is about three successful black
siblings from Harlem who search
for clues regarding their long-lost
grandfather, Samuel Lowe. The event

The Sunrise Kingdom visual arts
event comes to Queens Museum (New
York City Building, Flushing Meadows
Corona Park) featuring a pop-up exhibition,
performances, fi lm, fashion,
dance and independent vendors. This
will be the third edition of the Sunrise
Kingdom. The main purpose of the
show is to celebrate the world of black
arts and to give artists the opportunity
to network. The event is free, but there
is a suggested $5 donation to provide
supplies to the victims of the Bronx fi re
from a few weeks ago. The event will
take place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and

The Redstone Theater of the Museum
of the Moving Image presents an
85-minute fi lm covering New York
from the 1920s to the 1960s. The fi lm,
“Lost Landscapes in New York” by Rick
Prelinger, takes an in-depth look at the
daily life, social change, and the city’s
changing landscapes over the course
of the 20th century. Tickets are $20
