When the store opens at 73-25 Woodhaven Blvd. this spring, it will be the fi rst Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Queens — and only the second within the fi ve boroughs, with the fi rst opening on Staten Island in 2011. Before they open in March, management will need to fi ll approximately 100 full-time, part-time and temporary associate positions. According to Dick’s, the new Glendale location will feature athletic and outdoor apparel and the latest gear for team sports, fi tness, camping and fi shing. It will also include a new and improved footwear section in order to off er a broad selection of sports performance and casual footwear. The company is looking for qualifi ed candidates who will draw on their personal experiences and knowledge to help guide, inform and equip customers with the right products. Once hired, associates will benefi t from competitive pay, store discounts and the opportunity to work with the best sports and outdoor brands. To celebrate the opening of their fi rst store in Queens, Dick’s will host a threeday Grand Opening Celebration with a ton of giveaways and special in-store appearances.
