Joy Morsi, 40, of Massapequa, L.I. pled guilty last Friday to thirddegree charges of rape and criminal sexual act. Acting Queens Supreme Court Justice Dorothy Chin-Brandt accepted the plea and ordered Morsi to complete a one-year, outpatient mental health treatment program related to a depressive disorder. Should Morsi successfully complete the program, according to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, she will be sentenced to 10 years’ probation; if she fails, she would serve 1 1/2 years behind bars and five years’ probation. Regardless of the outcome, Morsi must register as a sex offender and was ordered to surrender her teaching license. Police said Morsi had sexual relations with the students—both of whom were 16 years of age at the time—on the Grover Cleveland campus—between June 2013 and May 2014. Reportedly, Morsi and the first victim had the trysts in the school basement and other areas. Last May, police said, the teacher exposed herself to the second student and performed a sex act on him. School officials and law enforcement agents were alerted to the incidents after one of the victims informed an acquaintance of the indecent affairs and subsequently informed parents. Det. Josephine Lalli of the NYPD Queens Special Victims Squad conducted the investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Melissa Kelly of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau, which is supervised by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth M. Appelbaum, bureau chief, and Eric C. Rosenbaum and Lucinda C. Suarez, deputy bureau chiefs. Morsi must return to court on Mar. 27. Ordered Up Woodside Bank Cash by Robert Pozarycki Police seek the public’s help in finding the man pictured at right who allegedly held up a Woodside bank last Saturday morning, Jan. 17. According to law enforcement sources, the caper occurred at 11:35 a.m. inside the Chase branch at 59-26 Woodside Ave. Reportedly, the perpetrator— described as a white man standing 6’2”-tall, weighing 200 lbs. and last seen wearing a black jacket and a gray New York Yankees baseball cap— approached a teller and verbally demanded cash. Authorities said the teller then handed over an undetermined amount of currency to the crook, who fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. Members of the 108th Precinct responded to the scene. There were no injuries reported. The NYPD Major Case Squad -SEE HEIST ON PG. 55- It’s MulchFest Time In Jackson Hts.
