Terrel Blanding, 27, of the Bronx, has been charged in the Oct. 26 incident at a Chase Bank at 46-10 Queens Blvd., authorities said. Two men approached the victim, William Eichhorn, 81, after he withdrew money from the bank’s ATM about 9:23 a.m. that day. The pair then punched Eichhorn in the face and stole $100 in cash and a debit card before fleeing, police said. Surveillance footage shows the suspects following Eichhorn, who is legally blind, inside the bank that Sunday morning. On Dec. 3, police said they had arrested the other suspect, 29-year-old Thomas Fullwood, who shares the same Bronx building address as Blanding. It was not immediately clear if the two were roommates. They have both been charged with two counts of robbery. 109th Precinct Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Police looking for Flushing apartment burglar A burglar broke into a Flushing apartment, making off with the resident’s cash and jewelry, police said. The suspect entered the home, near the Murray Hill Long Island Rail Road station, through a window about 6:20 p.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities. He then took $200 and a necklace. To view the video, visit www.queenscourier.com. 110th Precinct Corona and Elmhurst Elmhurst man stabs wife with kitchen knife, fakes her suicide note: DA The estranged husband of an Elmhurst woman was charged with stabbing his wife to death with a kitchen knife and trying to make the murder look like a suicide, Compiled by Cristabelle Tumola and Angy Altamirano authorities said. Luis Paguay, 43, was arrested after police found his wife, 39-year-old Maria Paguay, unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds on her body inside her 50th Avenue basement apartment at about 6 p.m. on Dec. 4, cops said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Paguay allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times in the neck and chest with a large kitchen knife sometime between Wednesday night and before 6 p.m. Thursday, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown. The victim’s 19-year-old son found her as he returned home from school. After stabbing his wife, Paguay allegedly wrote a suicide note in his wife’s name and then left for his job as a dishwasher at Ducale Restaurant in Whitestone, Brown said. When he arrived at the restaurant he allegedly saw he had blood on his shoes and according to surveillance footage, he attempted to wash his shoes in a sink. According to the New York Daily News, the couple had recently separated and the victim’s husband had gotten angry that she was in a new relationship. Paguay was arraigned in Queens Criminal Court on Dec. 8 on charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon. If convicted he faces up to 25 years to life in prison. 114th Precinct Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights 81-year-old Astoria woman scamed out of $3K: cops An Astoria senior citizen was the victim of a money scam after a pair of thieves tricked her into giving them $3,000 in cash, police said. The 81-year-old victim was in front of her 21st Street apartment about 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 1 when she was approached by a man and woman, both 35, cops said. The suspects then told her they had found a large amount of money and that she would be able to have $70,000 of it, as along as she proved to the bank that she had $3,000 in cash. The victim brought the female suspect to her apartment building and gave her the $3,000, with the suspect promising they would return with her $70,000, police said. But they never came back. The female suspect is described as 5 foot 5 inches tall and 160 pounds, and the male suspect is 5 feet tall and 200 pounds. Police have released a surveillance video of the female suspect. Two men, wearing dark clothing with cloth masks across their face, entered the bank, a Chase branch at 56-21 Marathon Parkway, at about 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 4, according to authorities. One of the suspects was carrying a handgun and a black bag. The second suspect ordered the banker and customer who were in the banking area to move to the lobby, the FBI said. They complied, and the armed robber lowered himself to the ground nearby. The second suspect then told the manager to remove money from a teller drawer, followed by the vault. Once inside the vault, the robber took an undisclosed, but significant amount of cash and placed the money in the black bag, the FBI said. Man gets 16-year prison sentence for Jackson Heights pizza delivery robbery A Ridgewood man was sentenced on Dec. 3 to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to beating a pizza deliveryman with a baseball bat and stealing his cash and scooter in Jackson Heights, District Attorney Richard Brown said. Anardo Batista, 26, of 30-04 92nd St., pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery on Sept. 3, before Queens Supreme Court Justice Gregory Lasak, who handed down the sentence that also includes five years of supervision after his release from prison. “The defendant has plead guilty and has now been sentenced to a significant amount of time behind bars. The public can rest assured that the defendant is no longer a danger to society,” Brown said. Batista and co-defendant Jorge Paret attacked Victor Mehia, who was delivering a pizza to a 31st Avenue address in Jackson Heights in 2010. The victim was struck with a baseball bat and had both cash and his scooter taken by the pair.
