On Saturday, Aug. 29, at 10:30 a.m. the man entered St. Nicholas Church at 45-03 48th Ave. and headed toward the office. Once in the office, the suspect took a Toshiba laptop and fled the scene, according to police. Authorities have released a surveillance video of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800- 577-TIPS (8477). Suspect wanted in gunpoint robbery of cab driver in LIC Police are looking for a suspect wanted for the robbery of a cab driver in Long Island City last month. The suspect got into the yellow cab on Aug. 30 in Manhattan at 46th Street and Fifth Avenue at noon, according to authorities. He then requested to go to 45th Road and 23th Street, and upon the taxi’s arrival, he threatened the 33-year-old driver with a gun and demanded money, police said. The victim complied, and the suspect was able to flee with an undetermined amount of money. Officers from the 108th Precinct responded. There were no reported injuries, and the suspect’s photo was captured from a dashboard camera in the cab. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. 114th Precinct Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside, Jackson Heights Man found fatally shot on Astoria street A 26-year-old man died early in the morning of Sept. 27 after being found shot on Steinway Street in Astoria, according to authorities. On Sunday, at about 3:59 a.m., officers from the 114th Precinct responded to a call regarding a person being shot outside of 25-86 Steinway St. Upon arriving, cops found the man – whose identity is pending family notification – in front of the location with gunshot wounds to his body, police said. Emergency personnel transported the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. There have been no arrests and the investigation is still ongoing. Firefighters rescued a construction worker who passed out atop a pillar for the new Kosciuszko Bridge in Maspeth on the afternoon of Sept. 29, police reported. At about 12:16 p.m., the NYPD and FDNY responded to a call alerting them to an unconscious man at 56th Road and Laurel Hill Boulevard.
