He has served the Corona Heights community for the past 13 years as a Branch Manager/Vice President. DeGaetano is also involved with several community organizations that include the Lions of District 20K1, the Corona Lions Club and the 110th Police Precinct Community Council He was instrumental in the chartering of four new Lions Clubs in the borough of Queens: the Bayside-Whitestone Lions, St. Albans United Lions, Queens Pride Lions and the Richmond Hill– South Ozone Park Lions. Queens Pride is especially unique and exciting as the first LGBT Lions Club formed in New York State. Lal K. Motwani Chairman National Federation of Indian-American Associations (NFIA) Lal K. Motwani, Chairman of the National Federation of Indian American Associations, is a familiar and respected name in the Indian community, as well as in the New York and New Jersey political arena. With a passion for promoting India and doing community service, Motwani has carried on his tireless voluntary work for the past three decades. Born in 1936 in Sindh, now in Pakistan, Motwani moved to Baroda in Gujarat, where he had his education. He came to US in 1977 as an architect from Lucknow, the capital of North India. Through his hard work and dedication he has emerged as one of the leading Indian American community leaders in the New York area. In the last 33 years, he has established himself as an architect and designer and has been elected to esteemed positions in several NRI Associations and has won many awards. He retired recently as assistant director of New York City’s Housing Authority’s Office of Facility Planning and Administration.
