On Monday, September 16, at approximately 4 a.m., a suspect identifi ed by police as Juan Sanchez, 30, of Ridgewood, kicked the mirrors off multiple vehicles in the vicinity of Forest Avenue and Woodbine Street. Sanchez was arrested and charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief. While multiple victims have come forth to make reports, others have not. If you know of anyone whose vehicle was damaged and parked in the vicinity of this crime, advise them to contact the 104th Precinct. 107TH PRECINCT Fresh Meadows, Cunningham Heights, Hilltop Village, Electchester, Pomonok Off-duty offi cer arrested On Thursday, September 12, off-duty NYPD offi cer Matthew Slavin, 27, was arrested and charged with assault in the third degree and criminal mischief. 108TH PRECINCT LIC, Sunnyside and Woodside Woman struck, killed On Friday, September 13, police responded to a 9-1-1 call of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of 27th Street and Queens Plaza North. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a woman in her 50s unconscious and unresponsive lying in the roadway at the location. EMS also responded and took the woman to Mount Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation determined that the female was crossing Queens Plaza North when she was struck by a blue 2009 Honda CRV, driven by a 69-year-old man, which then mounted the curb and struck a pillar. The vehicle remained on the scene and the investigation is ongoing. 110TH PRECINCT Corona and Elmhurst Man charged in deadly Elmhurst hit-and-run of 79-year-old Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of an elderly woman in Elmhurst. David Rojas, 19, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, said cops. He allegedly struck 79-year-old Cui Ju Yu as she was crossing Junction Boulevard at 50th Avenue around 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, then fl ed in his vehicle. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition. She reportedly passed away the following morning. 114TH PRECINCT Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights Fatal motorcycle and SUV collision leaves two dead in Astoria Police are investigating a motorcycle and car collision that left two people dead in Astoria. According to the NYPD, on Saturday, September 14 at approximately 4:28 p.m. offi cers responded to a call of a collision between a motorcycle and an SUV at the intersection of 20th Avenue and 24th Street in Astoria. An initial police investigation determined the Nissan Xterra was traveling westbound on 20th Avenue when the driver decided to make a U-turn at 24th Street to go east and the motorcycle struck the vehicle. Upon arrival, paramedics pronounced the driver of the motorcycle, a 32-year-old Hispanic man, and the passenger of the motorcycle, an unidentifi ed woman, dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a 56-yearold Hispanic woman, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she is currently listed in stable condition. According to police, the identities of the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle are still pending. The investigation is still ongoing. Arturo Villa, 37, known as “A-Rock,” and Emmanuel Ramos, 28, known as “Manny,” were allegedly involved with a drug operation called the Flock Organization, which imported and distributed heroin and cocaine in the greater New York City area using Fresh Start Auto Repair and Tire Sales in Richmond Hill as a base, according to the FBI. Authorities arrested seven other suspects for their roles in the drug ring last month. Villa is described as 5’5,” 180 pounds, speaks English and Spanish, and has ties to Ozone Park and Woodhaven, as well as Pittsfi eld, Mass. and Erie, Pa. Ramos is 5’8,” 190 pounds, speaks English and Spanish, and has ties to Forest Hills and Brooklyn.
