Nadal decided against testing his injured right wrist and announced on Aug. 18 that he is withdrawing from the US Open due to the hurt joint. “I am sure you understand that it is a very tough moment for me since it is a tournament I love and where I have great memories from fans, the night matches, so many things,” Nadal said. “Not much more I can do right now, other than accept the situation and, as always in my case, work hard in order to be able to compete at the highest level once I am back.” Despite the loss of the defending champion, the US Open is packed with world-class talent as usual. World No. 1 ranked player Novak Djokovic has been named the top seed in the men’s singles and fi ve-time US Open champion Roger Federer has been seeded No. 2 for the two-week event at Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Rounding out the top four in the US Open is Stanislas Wawrinka at third, who defeated Nadal to win the 2014 Australian Open in January, and David Ferrer. Ben’s Be t - A New York Tradition for 70 Years It’s been said, time is the true judge of quality, and if this is accurate, Ben’s Best holds that distinction. For 70 years we have purveyed the finest kosher delicatessen and catering anywhere. In an ever changing world there are few constants, we pride ourselves on doing today what we have done from our inception. Our menu is constructed around recipes that follow family traditions, bringing forth the taste of the old world. Pride, tradition and family come together and form the principles that guide us. Happily, this was noticed when we were selected to cater Air Force One and again when we were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Further, a Zagat Review and rating of 25 was truly a high honor. We lovingly say, it’s not the last 70 years that concern us… it’s the next 70 years. Remember; When only the Best will do… choose Ben’s Best!
