Man assaults, tries to
rape Jamaica spa worker
Police are looking for a man who
attempted to rape an employee at a
Jamaica spa in July.
At 9:30 p.m. on July 9, an unknown
man, who was posed as a customer, asked
the 49-year-old female employee to use
the restroom at the Health Foot Spa located
at 169-06 Hillside Ave.
As the employee escorted him to the
restroom, law enforcement sources said,
he forced her into a room and attempted
to remove the victim’s clothing.
According to authorities, the victim
resisted, which caused the suspect to slap
the victim’s face and bite her chest. Aft er
hearing other people enter the spa, police
noted, the suspect fl ed the scene.
Th e incident was reported to the 103rd
Precinct; the victim was not seriously
injured.
Th e suspect is described as a 35-yearold
Asian/Pacifi c Islander man with a
mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue
shirt and dark colored pants.

Duo placed card skimmer
at Flushing ATM
Detectives are on the lookout for two
suspects who are wanted for installing a
card reader onto an ATM at a Flushing
bank in the latest in a long line of skimming
scams across Queens.
According to police, on Wednesday,
Aug. 2, at approximately 11:20 p.m., the
two suspects entered the ATM lobby of
the TD Bank located at 196-42 Northern
Blvd. in Flushing.
Law enforcement sources said both suspects
entered and exited the location multiple
times in the course of their visit. One
of the perpetrators acted as a lookout
while his partner installed the skimmer.
Sources familiar with the investigation
said that the branch manager discovered
the skimmer the following morning while
inspecting the ATM. Th e incident was
reported to the 111th Precinct.
Police said one of the suspects was
observed wearing a black hat and black
shirt and has a tattoo on his right shoulder,
while the other wore a white Under
Armour hat and a gray and purple shirt.
It is not known exactly how many people
could have been aff ected by these
skimmer, but anybody who uses this
ATM should check their bank account
and ensure they were not victims.
Back in March, offi cers from the 111th
Precinct gave residents tips on how to
avoid becoming a victim of this growing
crime, including inspecting ATMs before
using them and not using an ATM if it
is the only one working among numerous
broken machines. Th e NYPD also
worked with local 7-Eleven stores to have
all ATMs in the locations inspected and
secured.

Forest Hills and Rego Park
Rego Park man
fatally hit by car
No charges have been fi led against
the driver involved in an accident that
claimed the life of a pedestrian as he
attempted to cross a busy Forest Hills
street in the morning on Aug. 6.
Offi cers from the 112th Precinct
responded to a 911 call at 12:27 a.m.
on Aug. 6 about a pedestrian who was
hit by a car in front of a location on
Yellowstone Boulevard near Selfridge
Street.
Moments earlier, according to
law enforcement sources, 29-yearold
Arkadiy Dibin of Alderton Street
in Rego Park attempted to run across
Yellowstone Boulevard in the middle of
the block when he was struck by a 2005
Buick Lacrosse operated by a 66-yearold
man that was traveling northbound
on the boulevard. Th e driver stopped his
vehicle and remained at the scene.
Police question the driver following
the accident.
Upon arriving at the scene with EMS
units, offi cers found Dibin lying face-up
in the middle of the street, unconscious
and bleeding heavily from the head and
mouth. Paramedics took him to Forest
Hills Hospital in critical condition; Dibin
was subsequently transferred to North
Shore Hospital in Manhasset, where he
later died.
Th e NYPD Collision Investigation
Squad is continuing its inquiry.
114th Precinct
Astoria and Long Island City
Deliveryman robberies in
Astoria & Long Island City
Police are looking for a duo in Astoria
and Long Island City who used a disguised
phone number so they could call
in order for food deliveries and then rob
the delivery man when he arrived.
According to police, on July 6 at 11:19
p.m., a 38-year-old man was making a
food delivery at 33-21 13th St. in Astoria.
While outside the address, an unknown
man approached the man from behind
and choked him. During this time,
another unknown man stole $2,000 from
the victim’s pocket and fl ed the scene.
Almost two weeks later, at 11:30 p.m.
on July 18, a 51-year-old man was making
a food delivery at 11-52 30th Rd. in
Astoria. When he arrived, a suspect came
up from behind the man, choked him
and stole his iPhone and $150 before
fl eeing.
Th e third incident took place on Aug.
3. At 9:34 that evening a 46-year-old
man was making a food delivery at 38-59
9th St. in Long Island City. While standing
outside of the residence, one suspect
approached the man from behind and
choked him while the second suspect
took $400 and 2 credit cards from the
victim’s pockets before fl eeing the scene.
