Some of the attractions taking place during the festival include several special/Invitational Cup races including The 30th Anniversary HKETO NY FAMILY INVITATIONAL, the HKETO Business Invitational, The Health Care Invitational, The Educational Invitational and the Municipal Cup/Invitational featuring various teams from elected officials. There are also special youth, women and sponsor races, plus a media challenge and a charity race featuring $7,500 to be donated to the charities designated by the competing teams. Charity race participants include HSBC USA, DCH and Shanghai Commercial Bank Ltd. Each will contribute $2,500 to put in the charity fund. This year’s Corporate Invitational also looks to be a good one, with many corporate teams joining us to race for their company. The program on the Verizon FiOS Stage showcases the best regional multicultural artists and traditional music/dance from across the globe. In addition, there will be demonstrations of folk arts and crafts, booths staffed by sponsors and many community-based organizations. Multicultural Radio Broadcasting will be on hand offering a live radio broadcast both days and the Sing Tao Newspaper is offering activities for the entire family including a look at past photo entries and a preview of their annual photo contest. The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York, alongside its mission of furthering Hong Kong’s status as an international finance and commerce center, celebrates the 30th anniversary of the opening of the New York office with several special commerative cup races. They continue to promote Hong Kong as a regional hub for meetings, conventions, exhibitions and mega events. The city has successfully hosted such international events as the 2008 Olympics Equestrian Events, the 2005 World Trade Organization Ministerial conference, the 2009 East Asian Games, the 2009 Asian Aerospace, and the 2009 Vinexpo.
