Shulman traveled to WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, last November to present the working group’s case for new drugs derived from disease-based protocols for 29 different malignant forms of cancer. “Without drastic improvements in access to essential cancer medicines, poor countries will continue to be ill-equipped to care for their cancer patients,” Dr. Shulman said in a Dana-Farber press release. “Many diseases can be readily cured with affordable chemotherapy, and making these available to more patients around the world has to be one of our visions.” Dr. Shulman is the son of former Queens Borough President Claire Shulman and resides in Boston. medicine. Dr. Giglio joined Flushing Hospital on April 27, after serving 17 years as the chief of emergency medicine for New York Presybertian Hospital’s Columbia and Allen campuses.
