The event celebrated not only the contributions of business and civic leaders but also the achievements of students attending the college located in Bayside. Three Queensborough students were formally presented with the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship to allow them to continue their pursuit of higher education. The college also honored students who are part of the Business Technology Early College High School (BTECH), a six-year education program developed through the partnership of Queensborough Community College, multinational software corporation SAP, the city Department of Education and CUNY.
