The Queens Bookshop: www.thequeensbookshop.com Kickstarter: www.kck.st/1pudsww Email: [email protected] The Queens Bookshop Initiative is an effort by Vina Castillo, Natalie Noboa and Holly Nikodem to open a second independent, general purpose bookstore in Queens. The store hopes to be located in or around the neighborhoods of Forest Hills or Kew Gardens. The main focus of the store will be building the customer experience through unique instore events and outstanding customer service. The store also aims to connect to and help strengthen the Queens community by providing a space for people to gather, interact with literature, and see their own voices and interests reflected in a carefully selected inventory, including local authors and publishers. We intend to foster relationships with publishers and their authors through scheduled in-store events (signings, readings, meet-andgreets), opportunities to feature the author’s newest titles in prime focused locations throughout the store, and inviting authors to participate in the store’s blog and podcast to promote their works. A Lil’ Bit of Fun www.instagram/alilbitoffun Serving the best gluten-free mini funnels cakes in NYC. Also provide catering services. La Maison du Soufflé www.lamaisondusoufflee.com I love French food and patisserie and soufflé is something that in America is reserved for fine dining and has the reputation of being an arduous dessert that needed to be ordered in advance. It is worth the work and that wait of course — but I wanted to take it out of the usual setting and create a way for a more casual experience of such a decadent treat. I’m very excited because I will possibly introduce many people to soufflé and the only danger is that it’s quite addictive.
