EDITOR’S PICK 75th anniversary of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge To help mark the 75th anniversary of the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, the Queens Historical society is hosting a discussion with Mary Hedge, archivist for MTA Bridges & Tunnels, and Aris Stathopoulos, Deputy Chief Engineer, MTA Bridges & Tunnels. They will talk about the unique aspects of the bridge, its ultra-sleek design and the many measures that have been taken since the year after it opened to make it more wind resistant. The event runs from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
