FOR BREAKING NEWS VISIT www.qns.com MARCH 10, 2016 • BUZZ • The Quens Courier 51 dining out Indulge in great taste at Edison Place By Brianna Ellis Glendale’s Edison Place is the ideal restaurant to relax with family and friends, while enjoying a lovely variety of food and drinks. The cuisine ranges from New American to Irish, with a deep German influence as well. The restaurant was originally a German establishment for over 75 years and still maintains a strong German clientele. On March 11, Edison Place will be celebrating its fifth anniversary, where patrons can party with Guinness beer. Manager Merrill McIntire expressed the significance of their five year milestone: “It’s important because it shows that we have been accepted in the community. We’re part of the community. We want people to come and feel comfortable, almost like you’re coming home.” Edison Place holds true to their homelike atmospherewith dim lighting, brick wall décor and a feeling of intimacy. This sets the tone for a pleasant night of cool drinks and warm food. For starters, try the bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp skewers ($10). The appetizer is smothered in homemade bourbon barbecue sauce, which combines that sweet flavor with salty, crispy bacon strips. Seafood eaters will surely relish in the gigantic shrimp. A hearty entrée is the beef Wellington ($32) that includes a 10-ounce sirloin in a puff pastry. The pastry is soft and flaky, while a juicy steak awaits you inside. The rich gravy is sprinkled on top of mashed potatoes,a baked potato or other side choices with vegetables. Sip on one of the restaurant’s signature beers like Edison Dark, Brooklyn beer or Guinness Blonde ($4). One sweet treat is the Nutella and banana crepe ($8). The Nutella is deliciously sweet with soft bananas and powdered sugar on top. A scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream make this dessert even more delightful. Diners can also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Edison Place on Thursday, March 17. The restaurant is sure to have specials on drinks and appetizers, in addition to traditional Irish meals like corned beef and cabbage. For an enjoyable dining experience, spend some time at Edison Place. EDISON PLACE 71-28 Cooper Ave., Queens 917-688-3121 www.edisonplaceny.com View Over 200 Reviews at queenscourier.com Temple Beth Sholom’s Event of the Year! 171-39 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY 11358 Temple Beth Sholom 171-39 Northern Boulevard • Flushing, NY 11358 Saturday, March 19, 2016 7:30 pm till 12:00 Midnight Dance the Night Away with Professional DJ Donation Bar, Light Fare Food and Scrumptious Desserts Win Money in our 50:50 Raffle Win Money in our 50:50 raffle Bring a Can or Two of Nonperishable Food For Donation to Fjcc Food Pantry - It’s a Mitzvah! -$36.00 Per person -Costume Optional - 21 Years Old and Over Contact Fay Schildkraut 917-509-1664 or Fayschild@gmail.com HURRY!
