Admission is highly selective and enrollment is limited. LIU Post’s Center for Gifted Youth announces its 36th annual summer program for gifted children. The summer program runs from July 5-29. The program is open to gifted children entering grades 2-8 in September 2016. The program expands students’ knowledge, develops creative and critical thinking skills, and offers children the opportunity to learn in an exciting and accepting environment. Because of limited space, application for the camp is done through a special lottery process beginning on Friday, March 4, on the NYC Parks website. For this lottery, guardians are only allowed to register their child for one of the available camp locations. Those who have been picked from the lottery will then receive an email regarding their acceptance. These email notifi cations will be sent out after registration ends on Sunday, March 13. The Queens locations include Cunningham Park, Kissena Park, Lost Battalion Hall, Sorrentino Recreation Center and Vic Hanson Field House.
