Come to the recently reopened Queens Museum on Friday, March 7, from 7-10 p.m. (doors open 6 p.m.) to participate in the world’s only geographical trivia-based game night at the world’s largest panorama – The Panorama of the City of New York! The Panorama Challenge involves questions about assorted city landmarks, bridges, neighborhoods, parks and more. Participants will compete in teams of about 10 and will play either as a Panorama Challenger or Panorama Pro team. The suggested admission fee is $15 with all proceeds going to support the City Reliquary Museum in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, dedicated to collecting NYC ephemera. SUNDAY, MARCH 9 The Forest Hills Symphony Orchestra is announcing the second concert of its 50th season of three concerts for the 2013-14 season to take place at 2 p.m. at the Forest Hills Jewish Center, located at 106-06 Queens Boulevard. THRU MARCH 10 Artifacts of the African tribal kingdom called “The Collection of Amadou Njoya” is on display at the Queensborough Community College (QCC) Art Gallery. The potent beauty of celebratory festivals, initiations and other traditional rituals will be conveyed through masterful objects made of wood, metal and terra cotta in the exhibit. Amadou Njoya is a fourth generation Cameroonian born into a family of distinguished artisans and advisors for the royal family of the Kingdom of Bamum. FRIDAY, MARCH 14 King Manor Museum partners with Five Boroughs Music Festival to present “Les Delices,” a Clevelandbased, critically-acclaimed ensemble performing French Baroque music on period instruments. Writer, artist and performer Warren Lehrer presents a funny and thoughtprovoking multimedia performance/ reading based on his acclaimed new novel, A Life In Books: The Rise and Fall of Bleu Mobley. An illuminated novel, A Life In Books contains 101 books within it, all written by Lehrer’s protagonist, a controversial author who fi nds himself in prison looking back on his life and career. In the performance, Lehrer presents an overview of Bleu Mobley’s life in books via many of Mobley’s cover designs and other biographical materials including animations and video performances of book excerpts by the band BETTY, actress/poet La Bruja, beatbox artist Chesney Snow, and a live appearance by actress/author Judith Sloan. SATURDAY, MARCH 15 The Queensborough Performing Arts Center (QPAC) will have David Alan Grier with special guest Godfrey on stage at 8 p.m. The star of “In Living Color,” David Alan Grier may be best known as a dexterous TV comedy star, but he is also a multi-talented veteran of musicals, plays and numerous fi lms. Godfrey is one of the hottest comedians on their circuit, performing all over the country and hitting all the major festivals. Tickets are $40 and are available now.
