BY ANTHONY GIUDICE agiudice@ridgewoodtimes.com @A_GiudiceReport Aft er a short holiday break, many of the Blue Weiss Gottschee (BWG) developmental teams competed in diff erent tournaments over the past weekend, and came away with some fi rst place wins. In the East Meadow World Cup Tournament, three BWG teams took home fi rst place. Th e BWG 2008 team fi nished the tournament in fi rst place, winning all four of their games. In the 2006 brackets, both the Blue and the Orange BWG teams won fi rst place, with the 2006 Blue team victorious in three games and tying one game, while 2006 Orange won two games and tied one game. All three teams also had great showings in the Long Island Tournament where the kids competed against East Meadow SC, LI Rough Riders, Syosset SC, Jigs Academy, Plainedge SC, Brentwood SC, and OUSC Pride. In the Rockland County indoor tournament, the BWG 2005 team took home both fi rst and the second place. Th e boys competed against N.Y. Star Premiere, Gardent City, CT Rush, Clarkstown SC, Soccer Fun for Kids, Ramapo SC, and Crystal United. Th e BWG 04 Academy also went 4-0 in Paramus, NJ, defeating TSF 1-0, the Redbulls 3-0, the Cedar Stars 3-1, and in the fi nal BWG was victorious over PDA 2-1. On Monday, Jan. 16, the BWG 2005 teams participated in the Cosmopolitan Junior Soccer League (CJSL) tournament competing against other local clubs. On their way to fi rst place, the BWG team won games against PSG Academy, Silver Lake, Chernomorets and GJOA. The BWG 2004 team in Paramus, NJ. The 2006 Blue team with their fi rst place medals.
