Interest Continues in North
 Shore Towers Charity
 BY KAREN PERRY
Photo by Stephen Vrattos Past NST Courier articles
 have profiled the acts of
 charity performed by the
 North Shore Towers Knitting and
 Crocheting Club. Readers have
been told about the Club’s donations
 of colorful blankets, hats
 and stuffed animals to charitable
 organizations in the greater New
 York area. Reader interest has
 been shown through increased
 monetary and yarn donations. In
 order to continue this momentum,
the Club will periodically share its
letters of praise with friends and
 neighbors.
With locations in New York City
and on Long Island, St. Mary’s
 Hospital for Children is “Where
big hearts help little patients.” In a
recent thank you letter, the hospital
 praised the Knitting and Crocheting
 Club:
 “We hope that you take
 great pride in your donations
to St. Mary’s and feel good in
 knowing that you have played
 a significant role in helping
 children with special healthcare
 needs achieve a better
 quality of life.”
 With a charitable relationship of
more than a decade, the Women’s
Health Center of the Jacobi Medical
 Center remains the Club’s largest
 recipient. A recent letter from
 the Center’s Health Education
 Coordinator praised the Club as
 follows:
 “You have no idea how
 your generosity and thoughtfulness
 impacts our patients...
It touches them so deeply that
 someone cares enough to take
 the time to create something
 special just for them.”
 Periodically, the Club receives
 individual notes of thanks from
 patients. Having received a
 hand-knitted doll, a young Jacobi
 patient wrote…
“I love it so much. Blessings
 North Shore Knitters. I appreciate
 your handmade things and
 love you all!”
 Another Jacobi patient wrote:
“Thank you so much for this
 lovely blanket. I will definitely
use it to welcome my baby into
 this world.”
 As always, the Club appreciates
 your labor, monetary contributions
or the donation of yarn and knitting
needles. You can reach out to
 the North Shore Towers Knitting
 and Crocheting Club by contacting
its President, Judi Ross, at (347)
