10 North Shore Towers Courier n February 2015 KRONIO POLLA! “Effective March 1, 2015, Towers restaurant will be undergoing some major changes; new management and a complete renovation. After two decades, former owners Harry and Gus will be moving on to other ventures. HERE’S WHAT TOWER RESIDENTS HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE BELOVED DUO.” “We have been living here for 17 years, and have enjoyed many meals at Gus and Harry’s. I’m sorry to see them leave.” – MARK GEISENBERG “A wonderful person—one of the kindest! When I lost my son, I came to Gus to make arrangements for a buffet table for after the funeral. Gus said, ‘You go upstairs and cry and I’ll think of everything’… and he did. He also sent up free meals for many people just out of the hospital.” –DEBBIE WOLSKY “Gus is not only an institution, but he also makes everyone feel like family. His generosity toward my late night coffee breaks are always met with a smile. I will always remember him with kindness.” –VICKI MAZEL “For my 80th birthday party, my daughter insisted on paying for dessert. But Gus kept refilling the platters gratis. I often worked with Harry when fund-raising for UJA. He was always wonderful to work with.” –ENEAS ARKAWY “They offered a wonderful service to our community. They often took care of our frailer residents.” –SYLVIA IDLER “They are gentlemen. Even when we didn’t agree, we were able to compromise. Personally, and for the Clubs I represent, they will be missed.” –LEO TUJAK “Gus sent food to the hospital when he heard that I had fallen in the arcade.” –GLORIA ROSEN “In the 8 years I’ve lived here, I have often seen Gus’s care and concern.
